The "Firefly Pose" was introduced in Year 2. This pose stands with the right front leg bent, the left front leg curled up and molded to the body, and the two rear feet flat. The head faces straight forward, and the mouth is open. This pose has larger, flatter feathers on the wings than any subsequent pegasus poses, and is the only pegasus pose in with the base of the wings are raised rather than molded smoothly into the body. It was marked on the packaging of ponies printed in this pose that they could not wear My Little Pony shoes.
This pose was used in Years 2 and 3 in the US, and in various years in other countries and through special offers. It was recarved in Year 6 for the Sundae Best set. The Sundae Best version of the pose has a thinner body, a closed mouth, a more rounded left front leg and hoof, and wings molded smoothly into the body. It was used for the pony Peppermint Crunch.
