The Brush n' Grow Ponies appeared in Year 6, between 1987 and 1988. As their name implies, these ponies are meant to be groomed; they have longer, fuller manes than any other My Little Ponies, and much longer tails. Their hair is striped in four colors, and each pony has a mechanism inside her body so that by giving her head a few clockwise half-turns, you can draw her long tail back into her body; by pulling the tail, you can draw it back out to full length again. A second set of Brush n' Grow Ponies, the Princess Brush n' Grow Ponies, appeared the following year. Each pony came with a long brush, a long comb, a shooting star clip, a heart clip, and a ribbon.
