Magic Message Ponies were introduced in Year 6, between 1987 and 1988. These ponies take their name from their "magical" symbols, which change in different temperatures. At room-temperature in cool air, each pony's symbols look the same on both sides of her body. When warmed, however (as by rubbing), the symbols will display a "secret" picture or message. The hidden image is different on each side of the pony. All of the Magic Message Ponies also have small symbols on their cheeks or noses, like the Flutter and Twice as Fancy Ponies. Their tails are a solid color, but each pony has a strip of a second color in her mane. Only one set of Magic Message Ponies was released, although the Nurse Ponies, a European exclusive set, have symbols of the same kind. Each Magic Message pony came with a brush or comb and a ribbon.
Floater is a yellow adult pegasus pony with light pink eyes. Her hair is dark pink with an aqua-green strip. Her symbol is three balloons -- two dark pink, with a dark green one between them. On her right cheek is a small pink balloon. When rubbed, the symbol on her left side displays the letter "I," a heart, and the letter "U." The symbol on her right side displays the letter "I," a heart, and an ice cream cone. Floater is in the Lofty Pose. She came with a green bird brush and a ribbon.
Cuddles is a light blue adult earth pony with green eyes. Her hair is golden yellow with a white strip. Her symbol is a yellow teddy bear with a pink body. Cuddles has a small pink bow on her right cheek. When rubbed, the symbol on her left side displays a pink heart; the symbol on her right side displays a pink flower. Cuddles is in the Tootsie Pose. She came with a lavender bear brush and a ribbon. (Cuddles was the only adult pony to come with a bear brush.)
Cloud Dreamer is a dark pink adult unicorn pony with light blue eyes. Her hair is white with a dark green strip. Her symbol is a large blue cloud, and she has a small white cloud on her right cheek. When rubbed, the symbol on one side of her body displays a dragon; the symbol on her other side displays a castle. Cloud Dreamer is in the Gusty Pose. She came with a comb or brush and a ribbon.
Mirror Mirror is an aqua adult earth pony with light pink eyes. Her hair is aqua-green with a peach strip. Her symbol is a mirror with a yellow frame and dark peach-colored glass. On her right cheek she has a yellow mirror frame. When rubbed, the symbol on her left side displays a blond girl with a pink face; the symbol on her right side displays a witch with red hair, a pointed hat, and a yellow face. Mirror Mirror is in the Crumpet Pose. She came with a dark pink moon comb and a ribbon.
Windy is a pinkish-purple pony with green eyes. Her hair is peach with a strip of neon yellow. Her symbol is a tree with green leaves and a yellow trunk. She also has a small pink bowtie on her right cheek. When rubbed, the symbol on her left side displays a yellow kite; the symbol on her right side displays green apples. Windy is in the Posey Pose. She came with a yellow flower brush and a ribbon.
Magic Hat is a white adult earth pony with blue eyes. Her hair is lavender with a dark pink strip. Her symbol is a lavender magic hat with a puff of purple smoke coming out of it. On her left cheek is a lavender magic wand. When rubbed, the symbol on one side of her body displays a rabbit; the symbol on the other side displays a chick. Magic Hat is in the Bow-Tie Pose. She came with a comb or brush and a ribbon.
