Sparkle Ponies were originally a mail-order exclusive offer, but later they were made available in stores (see Year 7 Sparkle Ponies), and were sold on cards like other regular ponies. The mail-order Sparkle Ponies, however, have little symbols printed on their cheeks, whereas the store versions of the ponies do not. Two of the mail-order ponies also have different hair colors from their in-store counterparts. The store versions also came with different accessories.
Napper

Napper is a sparkly yellow adult earth pony with pinkish purple eyes. Her hair is green with gold metallic tinsel. Her symbol is a green crescent moon with a face, sleeping behind a purple cloud, with small purple stars around the moon. She has a small purple cloud on her left cheek. Napper is in the Bow-Tie Pose.
Napper came with a star brush.
Napper was also available in stores in Year 7. The store version of Napper has lavender hair with gold tinsel, and no symbol on her cheek.
Star Hopper

Star Hopper is a sparkly green adult unicorn pony with pinkish-purple eyes. Her hair is white with colored metallic tinsel. Her symbol is a pinkish-purple and green spaceship, and she has a small pinkish-purple ball on her right cheek. She is in the Powder Pose.
Star Hopper came with a pinkish-purple star brush.
Star Hopper was also available in stores in Year 7. The store version of Star Hopper has yellow hair with gold tinsel, and no symbol on her cheek. She is also more blue and less green than the Star Hopper sold in stores.
Sunspot is a sparkly orange adult earth pony with pale aqua eyes. Her hair is light pink with gold metallic tinsel. Her symbol is smiling yellow and pink sun, and she has a small yellow and dark pink sun on her left cheek. She is in the Tootsie Pose.
Sunspot came with a star brush.
Sunspot was also available in stores in Year 7. The store version of Sunspot does not have a symbol on her cheek.
Sky Rocket

Sky Rocket is a sparkly dark aqua-blue adult earth pony with aqua eyes. Her hair is red with blue metallic tinsel. Her symbol is a purple and pink rocket, and she has a small purple and pink rocket on her left cheek. She is in the Gingerbread Pose.
