A second set of Princess Ponies was introduced in Year 6 (1987-1988), similar in many ways to the first set. Like the original Princess Ponies, these ponies all have raised medallion symbols containing plastic jewels of various shapes and colors, and they all have strands of colored metallic tinsel throughout their manes and tails. In addition, each Year 6 Princess Pony has a long forelock made entirely of metallic tinsel, which can be held back by a crown-shaped hair clip accessory.
All of the Year 6 Princess Ponies stand in poses that differ slightly from any previous ponies. Many of the poses are very similar to other, earlier poses, but with slight differences. (The same is true of the Sundae Best Ponies released the same year.) Each Princess Pony came with a crown clip, a wand, a glittery star pick, and a ribbon with silver trim.
Princess Dawn is a pink adult earth pony with blue eyes. Her hair is lavender with purple metallic tinsel. Her symbol is an aqua medallion, vaguely circular in shape, but with three points at the top. Near the bottom of the medallion is a pink circular stone, with three yellow stones above it. She stands in a slightly-altered variant of the Gingerbread Pose. Princess Dawn came with an aqua star pick, a ribbon with silver trim, a light green wand, and a yellow crown clip with an oval center.
Princess Moondust is a yellow adult earth pony with pink eyes. Her hair is light pink with dark pink metallic tinsel. Her symbol is a pink medallion, rounded at the bottom and with three points on top; at its center is a yellow, tear-shaped jewel surrouned by yellow stones. She stands in a slightly-altered variant of the Posey Pose (also used for Sherbet). Princess Moondust came with a glittery aqua star pick, a ribbon with silver trim, a pink wand, and a mint green crown clip with three points, a circular center, and silver trim.
Princess Misty is a purple adult unicorn pony with pink eyes. Her hair is dark pink with purple metallic tinsel. Her symbol is a rounded, gold, octagonal medallion with a purple oval jewel center surrounded by round, oval, and diamond-shaped gold stones. She stands in an altered variant of the Moondancer Pose. Princess Misty came with a glittery yellow star pick, a ribbon with silver trim, an aqua wand, and a blue crown clip with three points and a circular center.
Princess Taffeta is a blue adult earth pony with pink eyes. Her hair is white with pink, blue, and yellow metallic tinsel. Her symbol is a gold, oval medallion with a pink, diamond-shaped center surrounded by green circular and diamond-shaped stones. She stands in a slightly-altered variant of the Bow-Tie Pose (also used for Banana Surprise). Princess Taffeta came with a glittery star pick, a ribbon with silver trim, a wand, and a crown clip.
Princess Sunbeam is a pink adult earth pony with lavender eyes. Her hair is yellow with dark pink metallic tinsel. Her symbol is a circular silver medallion with a dark pink jewel center surrounded by gold, oval-shaped stones. She stands in a slightly-altered variant of the Tootsie Pose (also used for Crunchberry). Princess Sunbeam came with a glittery star pick, a ribbon with silver trim, a wand, and a crown clip.
Princess Pristina is a green adult pegasus pony with purplish-pink eyes. Her hair is neon yellow with green metallic tinsel. Her symbol is a pink, diamond-shaped medallion with two green and pink diamond shapes in the center surrounded by green circular and diamond-shaped stones. She stands in a slightly-altered variant of the Surprise Pose. Princess Pristina came with a glittery blue star pick, a ribbon with silver trim, a dark green wand, and a dark pink crown clip with three points on top and a diamond shape in the center.
