Unicorn Poses

     Unicorn Ponies were first introduced in the Year 2, and continued all the way through Year 10, although the last adult unicorn pose was made in Year 5. Unicorn poses were seldom printed in other countries except as variations on US unicorns.


Moondancer

     The "Moondancer Pose" was introduced in Year 2. This pose stands with the right front hoof flat, the left front hoof bent, the right rear leg extended back and the hoof flat, and the left rear hoof flat. The head is raised and turned slightly to the left. This pose has a a more rounded face and body than most other poses.
     This pose was used twice in Year 2 and once in Year 7 in the US, and in various years in other countries. It was also re-carved in Year 6 for the Princess Ponies set. The Princess version of the pose has a slimmer body and a thicker neck, and the right rear leg is extended less. The head is also turned less to the left, and the face is less rounded. This version was used for the pony Princess Misty

Glory Pose

     The "Glory Pose" was introduced in Year 2. This pose stands with three feet flat and the right front leg bent and raised. The head faces straight forward.
     This pose was used in Years 2 and 3, and was available for several years in playsets and special offers in the US; it was also available in various years in other countries.

Gusty Pose

     The "Gusty Pose" was introduced in Year 3. This pose stands with three feet flat and the left front leg bent. The head and shoulders are turned slightly to the left, and the head is bent down.
     This pose was used in Years 3, 6, 7, and 9 in the US, and in various years in other countries.

Powder Pose

     The "Powder Pose" was introduced in Year 3. This pose stands with all four feet flat and with the head tilted very slightly to the right and raised high.
     The Powder Pose was used in Years 3 and 7 in the US, and in various years through special offers. It was re-carved in Year 6 for the Sundae Best set. The Sundae Best version of the pose has a smaller chest, a shorter nose, and a larger horn; it was used for the pony Coco Berry. There is also a version of the Powder Pose which is an Earth Pony: it is exactly the same as the regular Powder Pose, but without a horn. This version was used for four ponies from the Dance n' Prance set in Year 7.

Buttons Pose

     The "Buttons Pose" was introduced in Year 4. This pose stands with the right front leg bent and raised, the left front hoof flat, the right rear leg extended slightly forward with the hoof flat, and the left rear hoof flat. The head is tilted very slightly left and is bent down. This pose is thinner than any previous unicorn pose.
     The Buttons Pose was used from Year 4 through Year 9 in the US, and in various years in other countries.

Mimic Pose

     The "Mimic Pose" was introduced in Year 5, and was the last unicorn pose made. This pose stands with the right front leg bent and raised high, the left front hoof flat, the right rear hoof flat, and the left rear leg extended slightly back with the hoof flat. The head faces straight forward and up, and the mouth is open. This pose is thinner than any previous unicorn pose, and has longer legs.
     The Mimic Pose was used four times in Year 5, and was never used again.
