Secret Surprise Ponies and the Surprise Twins Pony are larger than other ponies because they have accessible, hollow insides. The Secret Surprise Ponies were meant to hold trinkets or jewelry; the Surprise Twins Pony carried two tiny baby ponies. The Surprise Twins Pony was only available in Europe.
Only one Secret Surprise pose was printed, but it was sold with two different saddles and two different locks (see "Saddles and Locks" below).

The Secret Surprise pose was introduced in Year 9 for the Secret Surprise set, and was never used again. This pose is considerably larger than any other pony pose. It stands with all four feet flat and the head turned very slightly to the right and bent slightly down.
This pose has a rectangular cavity in its back with a hard plastic saddle hinged in the rear and a locked down in the front. You can unlock and lift the saddle by turning a key in the keyhold in the pony's chest.
Two different saddles and two different keyholes were made for this pose (see "Heart Saddle", "Star Saddle", "Heart Lock", and "Star Lock" below).
The "Heart Saddle" has a half-oval in the front center with wavy diagonal stripes. Around this are eight dots -- four on either side -- with a heart at the rear center. Below the dots on either side is a ribbon strung with hearts, and below the ribbon are three hearts and three dots. The saddle is trimmed with bows.
The Surprise Twins mommy pony pose was introduced in Europe in 1994 for the Surprise Twins playset and was never used again. This pose stands with all four feet flat and spread apart, and the head is turned slightly to the right. It has a collar molded around the neck and chest, with a switch which, when pressed, opens a trapdoor under the pony where her babies can be stored. This pose is larger than most other pony poses, and has a thicker body.

The Surprise Twins baby pose was introduced in Europe in 1994 for the Surprise Twins playset, and was never used again. This pose is much smaller than any other baby pose ever printed. It is in a lying-down position with the head forward. The mane and tail are molded on, and the mane falls to the right.
