All the baby ponies, from the age of four to the age of fifteen, are enrolled at Ponyland Elementary, which also offers classes for junior high students. Many of the baby ponies are older than they appear, and some have already been in school for ten or more years, so in some ways, education is more of a convention than a necessity in Ponyland. The school is open only five hours a day, from Monday through Thursday, giving the kids plenty of time for play, and the teachers plenty of time to keep up with their families or their other jobs.

       Magic Star is the school principal, in charge of school funding, administering discipline, arranging school events and field trips, and keeping the students safe. Although Magic Star also owns the Ponyland Inn, she treats Ponyland Elementary as her most important work, and expects the other teachers to do the same, regardless of their other obligations.
