Pamplets and Brochures

     Over the years, various pamphlets were available through the mail or in special pony packages. These pamphlets sometimes offered ponies that were not available in stores, and could only be bought through mail-away offers using pony points. Listed below are a few of the many pamphlets released by Hasbro; others will be added as we acquire more photos and information.


1984 Birthflower Offer

     Through this 1984 offer, the twelve Birthflower Ponies were available at $3.00 + 2 horseshoe points each. You could also buy them as a set for $30.00. A sticker album was also offered for $1.75 + 1 horseshoe point
    On the back of the pamphlet was an offer to join the My Little Pony Fan Club, for a membership fee of $5.00. Members would receive a Blue Ribbon Award and Membership Card, a sew-on My Little Pony emblem, a paper doll pony, a scented necklace, a poster, and the pony newsletter "Hoofbeat."

1985 Collector Pamphlet

     This 1985 pamphlet offers all six Collector Ponies. Each one costs $3.00 + 2 horseshoe points; the full set is $15 + 2 horseshoe points.
     Also offered here are the twelve Birthflower Ponies, also $3.00 + 2 horseshoe points each. The full set is $30.00 + 2 horseshoe points (a slight raise in price: the previous year, the set had been available for $30.00 and no horseshoe points -- see above).
    As in the previous year's pamphlet, there is also an offer to join the My Little Pony Fan Club, for a membership fee of $5.00. Members would receive a Blue Ribbon Award and Membership Card, a sew-on My Little Pony emblem, a paper doll pony, a scented necklace, a poster, and the pony newsletter "Hoofbeat."

1985 Checklist Brochure

     This 1985 pony checklist pamphlet isn't a mail-order offer, but an illustrated list of My Little Ponies, Pony Wear, and My Little Pony playsets that were available in stores. It shows all of the ponies available in Year 3 (1984-1985), including the Earth, Unicorn, and Pegasus ponies, Rainbow Ponies, Sea Ponies, Baby Ponies, Baby Sea Ponies, Megan and Sundance, and the four playsets (Dreamcastle, the Waterfall, Lullabye Nursery, and Cuddles' Baby Buggy). It also shows all of the outfits from the Pony Wear, Pony Wear with Jewelry, and Mother and Baby Wear sets.

1986 Wedding Pamphlet

     This 1986 pamphlet offers the six Collector Ponies, the Pretty Parlor, and two wedding ponies: So-Soft Satin n' Lace and Lucky the Stallion.
     The Collector Ponies are offered at $3.00 + 2 horseshoe points each. The Pretty Parlor is offered for $6.00 + 3 horseshoe points. Satin n' Lace, complete with bridal gown, veil, shoes, and ring, is $6.00 + 2 horseshoe points, and Lucky the Stallion is $3.00 + 2 horseshoe points.
    On the back, there is also an offer to join the My Little Pony Fan Club, for a membership fee of $5.00. Members would receive a Blue Ribbon Award and Membership Card, a sew-on My Little Pony emblem, a paper doll pony, a scented necklace, a poster, and the pony newsletter "Hoofbeat."

1987 Collector Pamphlet

     Like previous collector pamphlets, this offer includes the six Collector Ponies and the twelve Birthflower Ponies, each at a price of $3.00 + 2 horseshoe points. The full Collector Pony set is $15.00 + 2 horseshoe points, and the full Birthflower Set is $30 + 2 horseshoe points.
     Also offered are the Show Stable for $20.00 + 4 horseshoe points and the Pretty Parlor (not including Peachy) for $6.00 + 3 horseshoe points. There's also an offer to buy the Collector Ponies and the Show Stable together for $32.50.

Glitter Island Mail Offer

     The 1987 Glitter Island pamphlet showcases the six Special Offer Sparkle Ponies, each one available for $5.00 + 1 horseshoe point, or the full set for $25.00. Also available are Baby Cuddles and the Baby Buggy ($10.50 + 2 horseshoe points), Satin n' Lace in her bridal outfit ($6.50 + 1 horseshoe point), Megan and So-Soft Sundance ($8.50 + 2 horseshoe points), Clipper ($3.50 + 1 horseshoe point), and Spike the Dragon ($2.50 + 1 horseshoe point). There is also an offer to buy Megan and Sundance together with Cuddles and the Buggy for $18.00.
     As in previous pamphlets, there is an offer to join the My Little Pony Fan Club. Instead of $5.00 as in earlier offers, the membership costs $6.50 + 2 horseshoe points. The membership also comes with more gifts than in previous years: members receive a glittery iron-on patch, a birthday party poster, a My Little Pony coin purse, a My Little Pony notepad, a membership card on a keyring, and a Stick n' Lift Show Stable picture with reusable pony stickers.

Ponyland Parade Mail Offer

     The 1987 Ponyland Parade offer reintroduces the Year 3 Rainbow Pony set; each pony is available for $4.00 + 1 horseshoe point, or as a set for $20.00 + 3 horseshoe points. Megan and Sundance are offered for $8.00 + 2 horseshoe points (fifty cents less than in the previous 1987 pamphlet), but the Pretty Parlor is now $7.00 + 2 horseshoe points (a dollar more than in another offer from the same year).
     Also available through this offer are So-Soft Satin n' Lace in her bridal outfit ($6.50 + 1 horseshoe point), Lucky the Stallion ($3.00 + 1 horseshoe point), Baby Cuddles with Buggy ($9.00 + 2 horseshoe points), and Spike the Dragon ($2.00 + 1 horseshoe point). Except for Satin n' Lace, all of these ponies are cheaper through this offer than through the Glitter Island offer from the same year (see above).
     There is also an offer for a "New" My Little Pony Fan Club membership, which costs $6.50 + 2 horseshoe points, and includes a glittery iron-on patch, a birthday party poster, a My Little Pony coin purse, a My Little Pony notepad, a membership card on a keyring, and a Stick n' Lift Show Stable picture with reusable pony stickers.

Beach Party Mail Offer

     This 1988 mail offer introduces the Pearlized Baby Ponies -- pearlized versions of the original Year 3 Baby Ponies. Each baby costs $3.50 + 1 horseshoe point; the full set is $17.60 + 3 horseshoe point. Also available through this offer are the Pretty Mane Ponies, Scribbles and Dabble, each for $6.00 + 1 horseshoe point. The Baby Sister Ponies, Li'l Sweetcake and Li'l Cupcake, are available only as a set, for $7.00 + 1 horseshoe point.

Birthday Party Mail Offer

     This 1989 pamphlet offers the six Twice-as-Fancy Baby Ponies: Baby Sugarberry, Baby Up Up and Away, Baby Sweet Tooth, Baby Milky Way, Baby Dancing Butterflies, and Baby Love Melody. Each baby costs $4.50 + 1 horseshoe point, or $5.25 without points. You can also buy the full set for $22.00 + 4 horseshoe points, or $25.00.
     Also available through this offer are Tux n' Tails ($6.00 + 2 horseshoe points, or $7.50), Sweet Scoops and herpendant ($8.50 + 3 horseshoe points, or $10.75), and the two Birthday Baby Ponies, Sugarcake and Gametime, with party accessories (each $5.50 + 2 horseshoe points, or $7.00).
     Both the Birthday Baby Ponies and the Twice-as-Fancy Baby Ponies are shown in the wrong poses in the pamphlet.

A Day at the Beach

     This 1990 pamphlet came in certain My Little Pony packages. It offers the same six Pearlized Baby Ponies introduced in earlier mail-offers, but the prices are a little higher: each baby costs $3.95 + 1 horseshoe point (or $4.75), and the full set costs $19.95 + 4 horseshoe points (or $22.95).
     The pamphlet also offers Rapunzel ($8.95 + 2 horseshoe points, or $10.50), the Mommy and Baby Pony set ($9.95 + 2 horseshoe points, or $11.50), Babies Sugarcake and Gametime with accessories (each $5.50 + 2 horseshoe points, or $7.00), and the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe with Scoops ($19.95 + 3 horseshoe points, or $22.25).
